The designer and founder of ZEROBARRACENTO is Camilla Carrara, who was born in Milan in 1991. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design from the Politecnico di Milano university in July 2014, and her Master’s degree in Sustainability in Fashion from Esmod Berlin in November 2015. In July 2016, Camilla won a research scholarship funded by Salvatore Ferragamo and Fondazione per il Clima e la Sostenibilità for her research project on natural fibers, new materials and the promotion of artisanal traditions for an environmentally and socially sustainable fashion industry. In the following years the designer was often invited as a guest speaker by several schools and universities (Axis College, University of the Incarnate Word, Bocconi, 24Ore Business School and Polimoda Florence) to explain the value of zero waste and to discuss design strategies. In 2021 she became a member of the Jury of the Redress Design Award, the largest sustainable fashion design competition in the world, which is organized by Redress. She currently collaborates as a project coordinator with C.L.A.S.S., an eco-hub for the promotion of sustainable fashion.

“A Silent Hug” represents a new beginning through the intrinsic values of ZEROBARRACENTO: made-in-Italy production and certified high-quality materials combined with a functional design for a silent luxury – soft and sharp at the same time. A slow path from 0 to 100 that helps make you feel special and cosily cuddled at every stage of your life. The volumes and the relaxed fit are well suited to a more complete outfit, created for a very comfortable mood. A clean canvas to experiment with to create novelties, from loose fits to new oversized proportions. Details focused on a timeless, high-quality design that works transeasonally. Minimalistic silhouette, clean and sophisticated look, with soft yet captivating volumes. “A Silent Hug” conveys a sense of optimism and a desire to escape. Indeed, ZEROBARRACENTO wants to offer an identity-defining uniform , an armor of invincibility and protection, a product capable of embracing and accompanying those who choose it, as well as of adapting to their body, style and evolution of personality. A secure blanket that provides physical and mental comfort and ensures an emotional connection with the garments so that they last long enough to fall in love with them every day. Each single element is designed to achieve zero waste. It is not just a pattern-making technique, but an all-around commitment of the brand, which chooses mono-fiber products to facilitate end-of-life recycling, including selvedges and avoiding accessories that are difficult to disassemble. Eliminating textile waste during the design phase helps to reduce the use of raw materials, 15% of which is generally wasted in the cutting room. The luxury fabrics used in this collection, which can accompany the wearer peacefully day and night, are the top-quality Newlife ™ high-tech polymer, the precious Bemberg™ by Asahi Kasei that is GRS and OEKO-TEX® Standard 100 certified, the organic and mulesing-free, GOTS-certified wool by Zignone, and selections from the Vintage collection by Teseo spa which perfectly embodies the values of circular economy. “A Silent Hug” chooses harmonious colors that are introduced as new neutrals – bloodstone, olive, black, pink clay, beige and lilac gray – for a sophisticated and contemporary look. Soft and sinuous shapes characterize the seven individual garments, which can be combined and layered to give a different expressive and interpretative freedom to anyone who wears them. Tie belts can be worn both loose and fastened to enhance the waist and provide infinite versatility. Short and three-quarter sleeves, just above the elbow, are voluminous and exaggeratedly wide. ZEROBARRACENTO allows you to stand out, but within the safe boundaries of a shape and an idea that remains familiar, with a more comfortable and clean appearance. For the new season the brand has chosen to rely again on photographer Lucrezia Costa, for a simple, intimate and essential shooting, letting several “non-models” wear the garments and remaining faithful to the brand DNA: A place outside of gender, age and time.
